Nuclear Plant Simulators
TransWare assisted the Washington Public Power Supply System (now Energy Northwest) with the generation of core neutronics data for the WNP-2 plant simulator. The Supply System's SIMULATE-E nodal code was used to generate the core response data. A special utility program was developed that parameterized the hot, cold, and borated data generated by SIMULATE-E into a format for input to the plant simulator model.
NUMAC Leak Detector Simulator
TransWare personnel were responsible for developing the software design and control logic for the GE NUMAC Leak Detector Simulator, used to train operators in the use of the system. The unit is a complete functioning model of the NUMAC system, except that data is acquired through connection to a simulation computer which permits instructors to simulate a variety of operational transients and abnormal operating conditions.
BWR EPG Logic
As a part of the DASS (Disturbance Analysis and Surveillance System) project for EPRI, TransWare personnel were responsible for developing the expert-system logic that identified the Emergency Procedure Guideline (EPG) status and corresponding operator actions based upon plant operating data obtained during degraded plant operation.
